Description

Metcalfe Constructions was engaged as Construction Manager in early 2008. The project provided a significant challenge in terms of site logistics being situated on the corner of a busy road next to the Hervey Bay Hospital.

The structure is primarily timber frame construction with ground level being conventional slab on ground. Internally, all partitions and doors are sound rated for the privacy of the patients and doctors.

The external façade consists of a striking combination of thermal rated rendered panels and Linea weatherboard cladding with aluminium framed windows that urbanises and modernises the facility.

The surrounds of the building consist of car park, ambulance bay and minor landscaping.

The Medical Centre encompasses a range of health and well being specialties including physiotherapy, dental surgery, specialist room, physician's rooms, general office, conference and boardroom facilities.

The strong relationships developed and maintained within the project team led to an outstanding project result for all involved.
